The G100 Announces Megan Motto OAM as CEO

Governance Institute chief to take the reins at Australia’s peak CFO body in October

The Group of 100 has appointed Megan Motto OAM as its next Chief Executive Officer, handing the leadership of Australia’s peak forum for senior finance executives to one of the country’s most experienced association leaders.

Motto arrives with more than two decades in member-based organisations, spanning governance, public policy, advocacy and stakeholder engagement. She spent six years as CEO of the Governance Institute of Australia, a role she took up after 13 years running Consult Australia, where she oversaw a period of organisational transformation, membership growth and advocacy.

G100 Chair Alex Bell said the appointment set the organisation up for its next phase. “Megan’s appointment gives the Board great confidence in the future of the G100,” he said. “She understands member organisations, advocacy and governance, and she brings the energy and experience needed to strengthen the G100’s value to members and its contribution to Australia’s business and policy environment.”

Motto joins as CEO designate on 14 September 2026, starting with a visit to Parliament House to engage alongside members and politicians on policy. She takes up the role formally on 19 October 2026.

“I am delighted to be joining the Group of 100 and to have the opportunity to work with Australia’s leading CFOs and finance leaders,” Motto said. “The G100 has a distinctive role to play in connecting members, amplifying their insights and contributing constructively to issues that matter to business, the economy and the community.”

Outgoing CEO Stephen Woodhill, who will stay on through the transition to support continuity of operations and stakeholder relationships, welcomed his successor. “It has been a privilege to lead the G100 and to work with such a committed community of CFO leaders,” he said. “Megan brings the experience, strategic judgement and stakeholder focus to guide the organisation into its next phase, and I look forward to supporting a smooth transition.”

The Group of 100 is the business association and advocacy body representing Chief Financial Officers and senior finance executives in Australia.
