DroneShield appoints Rebecca Lowde as CFO
DroneShield has appointed experienced technology and listed-company finance executive Rebecca Lowde as Chief Financial Officer, as the counter-drone technology company enters its next phase of global growth.
Lowde will join DroneShield on 2 November 2026, bringing three decades of experience across CFO, CEO and broader enterprise leadership roles, with expertise spanning transformation, capital management, M&A, governance, risk and scaling global technology businesses.
Most recently, Lowde served as CFO of MYOB, the KKR-owned accounting and business management software provider. During her tenure, she oversaw a debt refinancing and helped drive EBITDA growth through product monetisation and expansion, embedded financial services and disciplined cost management.
Her appointment also brings significant experience from one of Australia’s highest-profile technology growth stories.
As CFO and Chief People Officer at Afterpay, Lowde supported a $1.5 billion capital raising and the company’s subsequent $39 billion acquisition by Block.
Earlier in her career, she served as both CFO and CEO of ASX-listed Salmat and as Executive Director and CFO of Bravura Solutions.
Lowde is a CPA, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of Chief Executive Women.
Leadership transition
Lowde succeeds Carla Balanco, who has decided to leave DroneShield after more than eight years with the company.
Balanco has been part of DroneShield since 2018 and currently serves as CFO and Joint Company Secretary. She will provide support with transition arrangements following Lowde’s arrival.
DroneShield CEO and Managing Director Angus Bean said Lowde’s combination of public-company, technology and transformation experience would be valuable as the business continues to expand internationally.

As DroneShield continues to scale globally, her operational discipline, commercial judgement and experience through periods of rapid growth and complexity will be highly valuable.”
Bean also thanked Balanco for her contribution to the company since 2018.
Scaling into the next phase
The CFO appointment comes as DroneShield reports continued momentum in its growth trajectory.
Since releasing its first-half 2026 results, the company said FY2026 committed revenue has increased to $251 million, bringing it within its FY2026 revenue outlook range of $250 million to $270 million.
Committed revenue for FY2027 and beyond currently stands at $46 million.
DroneShield has also accepted the first order for its recently released AI-enabled RfRecon device, with hardware expected to be deployed to an existing Western European military end-user by the end of 2026.
While the contract is not considered material, DroneShield described the order as an important validation of its next-generation counter-drone technology.
Bean said the combination of the revenue milestone, first RfRecon order and Lowde’s appointment reflected the company’s recent progress.
“Having over $250 million in committed revenue for 2026 and receiving the first order for RfRecon, together with Rebecca’s appointment, demonstrates the strong progress we’ve made in recent months and the path forward in our next phase of growth.”
DroneShield Chairman Hamish McLennan said Lowde was selected following a competitive process and that her experience aligned with the company’s ambitions.
“Rebecca’s appointment is another important step in strengthening DroneShield as it scales globally. Following a competitive process, the Board agreed that her listed-company, governance, transaction and international technology experience make her an ideal fit for the Company’s next phase of growth.”
For DroneShield, the appointment adds a CFO with experience navigating capital markets, major transactions and rapid technology-sector growth at a time when the company itself is moving into a significantly larger phase of its development.
