Zoom IPO Veteran Kelly Steckelberg appointed Canva CFO

Australian design software giant Canva has announced the appointment of Kelly Steckelberg as its incoming Chief Financial Officer. Steckelberg brings extensive experience from her tenure as CFO at Zoom Video Communications, where she guided the company through tremendous growth, including its successful 2019 IPO and the unprecedented surge in demand during the global pandemic.
“Kelly’s impressive track record as a strong leader and strategic thinker, combined with her proven expertise in scaling enterprise companies, makes her the perfect addition to our leadership bench,” said Melanie Perkins, Canva’s co-founder and CEO.
The appointment comes at a pivotal time for Canva, as the Australian tech unicorn continues its rapid expansion and evolution from a consumer-focused design platform to a comprehensive visual communication suite for enterprises.
Steckelberg, who will be based in Austin, Texas, expressed enthusiasm about joining the company. “I’ve been an admirer of the team, product and mission for a number of years now,” she said, praising the passion, creativity, and innovation of the Canva team as “the hallmark of a truly generational company.”
Steckelberg will commence her role at Canva on November 26th 2025.
