Senex Strengthens its Finance Talent Pipeline

Senex Energy Ltd (Senex, ASX: SXY) recently announced the appointment of Mr Simon Ellinor as Chief Financial Officer.

Mr Ellinor has more than 20 years’ experience in a diverse range of senior financial, commercial and leadership roles and joins Senex from Sunwater, where he currently serves as Chief Financial Officer. Mr Ellinor has spent over 10 years in a number of senior management positions within Rio Tinto, including as Chief Financial Officer of Rio Tinto Coal Australia and Rio Tinto Salt and Uranium, and managing the Australian investor relations activities of Rio Tinto.

This announcement follows the previously announced appointment of currently serving Chief Financial Officer Mr Mark McCabe to the critical role of Chief Commercial Officer, leading Senex’s natural gas marketing, trading, commercial and business development functions. Senex Managing Director and CEO Ian Davies said he was delighted Simon was joining Senex’s executive team. “Simon will bring considerable finance, equity, debt and corporate development experience to Senex, and his

appointment is a significant step in ensuring our continued strong performance and growth. “In 2020, Senex transformed into an important east coast natural gas producer and supplier to leading manufacturers, producing the equivalent of more than 10 per cent of Queensland’s natural gas demand, and in 2021 declared its inaugural dividend to shareholders. “Senex has an exciting future as we pursue our production target of 60PJe/year by the end of FY25, complimented by a strong balance sheet and enhanced shareholder returns,” Mr Davies said.

Mr Ellinor holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland and is a Chartered Accountant. He is expected to commence with Senex in August 2021.
