Citi Australia appoints Will Langley as A/NZ CFO

Citi Australia has announced the appointment of Will Langley as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Citi’s Australia and New Zealand Cluster, pending local regulatory and compliance approvals.

In his role as CFO, Will Langley will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company in the region. He will also serve as a key member of the Executive Committee, playing an integral role in driving Citi’s strategic growth plans in Australia and New Zealand.

Will Langley brings a wealth of financial expertise and an impressive track record gained during his extensive thirty-year career in global banking, spanning across the Netherlands, Singapore, London, and Australia.

Most recently, Will held the position of Program Director at ANZ Bank, where he successfully led the establishment of ANZ Group Holdings Limited, a non-operating holding company (NOHC), listed on the ASX. This intricate initiative involved the separation of ANZ’s banking and non-banking businesses into distinct groups, with approval required by APRA, shareholders, and the Federal Court through a Scheme of Arrangement.

Prior to his work on the NOHC initiative, Will held several senior positions at ANZ, including Head of Finance for Institutional Australia and Papua New Guinea, and was a valued member of ANZ’s Institutional Australia Leadership Team. Before joining ANZ, he gained invaluable experience with prominent financial institutions such as Westpac Institutional Bank, the Royal Bank of Scotland, and ING.

We are thrilled to welcome Will Langley to Citi Australia,” said Mark Woodruff, CEO Australia. “His exceptional leadership in managing complex programs and prudent financial expertise within global organizations will undoubtedly make him a valuable asset to our team. We look forward to leveraging his wealth of experience and insights.

Will Langley will be based in Citi’s Sydney office and will report directly to Mark Woodruff, CEO of Citi Australia and New Zealand, as well as Mateus Almeida, CFO of North & East Asia Cluster & Hong Kong.

Expressing his enthusiasm about joining Citi, Will Langley said, “Citi’s global presence and unique service offerings in the Australian marketplace, coupled with its ambitious team, are truly impressive. I am excited to be part of Citi and contribute to their growth plans by playing a crucial role in shaping the financial future of the local operations.”
