Revolving Doors – July 2024

We’re halfway there! Already? Six months down, six to go. Wow, that’s gone quick! Is it just me, or was June an exceptionally cold month? Walking the dog in the mornings was a “chilly” affair, giving an unwanted feel for what Melbournians must experience most of the time!

The CFO merry go round continues. June saw the juggernaut of changes continue to flow, with CFO movements recording a 10% uplift to prior month.

ASX CFO Moves IN >  

Bapcor, leaders in the “unseen parts of every Australian journey”, have appointed interim CFO George Saoud into the permanent role, effective 1 July 2024. We see you Bapcor!

Investa, innovative investment management, development and real estate operators, have appointed Brendan O’Brien as their new CFO commencing September 2024.

VEEM limited, a designer and manufacturer of disruptive high-tech marine propulsion and stabilisation systems, announced propelling Tino Kapfumo from Finance Manager to CFO and Company Secretary effective 1 July 2024.

Seven West Media announced the appointment of Craig Haskins as their permanent CFO. Craig had been Acting CFO since April. SWM also announced the introduction of a new operating model designed to deliver on strategy covering optimising their television business and delivering on their digital future.

Another Interim to Permanent move! Core Lithium have announced the permanent appointment of James Virgo effective 24 June 2024.James had been serving as interim CFO since March 2024.

CFO Moves OUT <

Oneview Healthcare, provider of a unified set of digital tools in a single bedside solution to hospitals and healthcare systems, announced the resignation of their CFO and Company Secretary Helena D’Arcy effective 30 September 2024. Helena is committed to unifying the care experience during her transition period.

Spicing up their ELT, Hot Chili, a top ASX copper miner with an advanced portfolio along the Chilean coastline, have announced the resignation of Penelope Beattie from her role as CFO & Company Secretary effective 1 July 2024.

Bubs Australia have announced the planned retirement of their CFO Robin Johnston, who will remain in the role until after the release of their FY24 financial results.

Saunders International have announced that Brett Gregory will exit the company in late August 2024 to pursue other opportunities. Russell Watt, their current Group Financial Controller will operate as Interim CFO while an executive search is underway.

Interesting CFO Moves Outside the ASX

Football Australia have appointed Caroline Veitchas their new CFO, commencing 26 August 2024. Caroline has previously held prominent senior executive roles at LION, KPMG and Endeavour Group. Great to see a female leading Finance at a time when the Matildas are rated the most marketable sports team in Australia, ahead of the men’s cricket team and the Wallabies.

Sticking with Sport and Cricket Australia’s, Samantha Douglas, announced that her tenure as CFO is coming to a close. Samantha joined Cricket Australia in July 2020 and was previously with National Australia Bank.

M&C Saatchi Group, known for thinking big and bold in the advertising world, have appointed Tim Scott as their Group Finance Director AUNZ. Tim serves as an advisory board member for several prominent companies, and brings 16 years of experience with Interpublic Group,12 years of which were as APAC CFO.

Bhumit Amin will be joining Eurocold Refrigerated Vehicles as their new CFO. Stay warm Bhumit, good thing the role is based in Queensland.

Kia Ora Stud, one of Australia’s oldest and most successful thorough bred stud farms based out near Scone in the Hunter Valley, have secured the services of Skye (Leckie) Carmody as their new CFO commencing 1 August 2024. Giddy up Skye!
