General Capital appoint Vik Singh as CFO

NZX listed financial services group General Capital this week announced Vik Singh as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) subject to regulatory approval. General Capital continues its strong growth trajectory and is a leading non-bank deposit taker and lender offering a range of deposit and financing solutions tailored to both individual and business requirements.

General Capital Chair, Mr Rewi Bugo welcomed the appointment saying “The Board is pleased to welcome Mr Singh as the new CFO of the Group at this time of significant growth and regulatory change including the upcoming inclusion of General Finance Limited (the wholly owned subsidiary of General Capital) in the Deposit Compensation Scheme on 1 July 2025. Vik brings over 17 years of global working experience across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, primarily in the financial services industry. Vik was previously Group Financial Controller for Jarden, a leading investment banking and wealth advisory group, and was recently a Director in the management consulting arm of PwC specialising in Finance Transformation & Operations.

Vik commenced his career in Audit in New Zealand and subsequently in Melbourne at Deloitte prior to moving to London. Vik spent 7 years working in London across a number of leadership roles including as Finance Director for MedAccess, Head of Finance Operations at M&G (a leading funds management giant), and HSBC working within Group Financial Reporting and Retail Banking & Wealth Management. Vik also held roles with Barclays Investment Bank and Jupiter Fund Management Plc.

With a wealth of experience across financial reporting, financial planning & analysis, financial strategy, transformation & operations, and business partnering, Vik has built a reputation for delivering fast paced projects and improvements to support the Executive Management team and the Board in making sound financial decisions.
